V.P.'s Corner

I would like to thank all members and executives for giving me the opportunity to represent you and the association as Vice President. It is an honour to be a part of ASRCT. I am committed to meeting the needs of all members of the association. As a Registered Cardiology Technologist, I am privileged to take part in establishing the importance of our skills, and the significance it has in the lives of our patients and medical diagnosis.

Another successful AGM has come and gone. Now we wait in anticipation for the 2010 Canadian Cardiovascular Congress!

Congratulation to all who were involved in the AGM and Preceptors workshop, as it was a great success! The AGM was educational yet entertaining.

Dr. Choy did a great job by applying echocardiography to electrocardiograms. His presentation aims to develop our knowledge in the physical metamorphosis occurring in the heart in conjunction with ECG changes.

Lois’ presentation was interactive, and allowed members to analyze pacemaker ECG strips, while highlighting pertinent pacemaker material.

Diane, the CEO of the Heart and Stroke Foundation, gave an informative view of Canadian lifestyle and the significance of its impact on the health of your heart. Her presentation left the audience enlightened and armed with the tools needed to make a healthy change.

Brenda Robinson was this year preceptor workshop guest. She gave an amazing workshop on ‘Getting the Best from the Most’. She challenged the difficulties of working among people of different strengths and abilities. Her humourous approach on this concept allows members to build a positive working environment.

I encourage you to view all presentations given at the AGM, which can be found on our website under the title ‘AGM Presents’. Please see all executive reports located below.
